One aspect of a productive workplace is a happy workplace. When workers arrive at their job and enjoy being there, everyone involved benefits. It’s important to create a work atmosphere that makes your workers feel welcome. They must feel like it is their second home which makes their coworkers feel like family. This is how company culture is built.
It brings up a question. What is your perfect workplace layout? Is it an open floor plan, high-paneled cubicles, private offices, or a combination? It’s important to promote a collaborative environment where employees can easily communicate with each other to work effectively. Planning for this early in the design process will cut down or eliminate any unnecessary furniture reconfigurations later.
Lighting is just another way to add to your perfect workplace. Proper lighting can be such a huge influence on any work environment. Whether you have ceiling lighting or lots of natural light, it’s important that the light you cast is not too harsh or too subtle.
Not only do you have to see what you are doing but you must hear as well. Office acoustics affect workers’ productivity. Concentration is vital to productivity. Studies show that participants who worked in a loud environment were more tired, less motivated at work, and remembered little of what they were doing, compared to those working in a low-noise environment.
